World Cup Qualification | Portugal 3 - 1 Turkey ~ Match Preview

Review of Portugal vs Turkey 3-1 in the play-off duel for the 2022 World Cup Qualification in the European zone, Friday (25/3/2022). 
Playing at the Estadio do Dragao, Porto, Portugal was troubled by the Turkish resistance. The game of Cristiano Ronaldo et al. also not as good as usual.
Portugal's three goals this time came from the actions of Otavio Monteiro (15′), Diogo Jota (42′), and Matheus Nunes (90+4′). Turkey could only reply to one goal through Burak Yilmaz in the second half (65′).
This victory led Portugal to the play-off final, duel with North Macedonia for a ticket to the 2022 World Cup finals.
Portugal immediately applied high pressure in the first 10 minutes. Turkey is confined to its own playing area. In the 11th minute, Bruno's free kick was greeted by Jota in the penalty box, unfortunately the ball was still off the mark.

Portugal's dominance gave birth to the second goal in the 42nd minute. Otavio's cross was met by Jota with a perfect header at the far post. Goal! Portugal 2-0 Turkey.
The second half continued with a pattern that was not much different. Portugal still dominates the ball, Turkey is waiting for a chance to counterattack.
The 65th minute, Turkey managed to reduce the position. Yilmaz and Under make a great combination. Both managed to get past Pereira, then Yilmaz finished it with a directed kick. Goal! Portugal 2-1 Turkey.
Turkey's reply goal ruined Portugal's game. Cristiano Ronaldo et al. seemed topsy-turvy until the 75th minute. Turkey is gaining momentum.
In the 83rd minute, Turkey was awarded a penalty, Fnte brought down Unal in the forbidden box. Yilmaz came forward as the executioner, but his shot was bad and the ball hit the post. Fail! Portugal 2-1 Turkey.
90+4 minutes, Portugal scored the final goal. Quick counter-attack, Leao's pass was accurate to Mtheus who managed to outwit Calik and hit the empty net. Goal! Portugal 3-1 Turkey.
